Care guide
How to care for kids’ outerwear
Outerwear keeps us warm when it’s cold, shields us against the wind, and protects us from getting soaked when it’s pouring. That’s why we should show some care in return. Here are some ways to take care of their outerwear, without compromising its functionality. That way, they can wear it now and pass it on later.

How to wash outerwear
To maintain the garments smart functions like being windproof and water repellant, wash them as little as possible. Spot clean and hang them out to air, and if you simply must wash them, use an ordinary detergent and no softeners. Read the care instructions, make sure all the buttons and zippers are closed and turn the garment inside and out. Voilà! Ready for a spin in the machine.
What’s the best way to dry outerwear?
You can either air dry or use a drying cabinet set on low. The latter option also helps reactivate the functional properties of the garment.
Do I need to waterproof outerwear?
Give your kids outerwear a boost with a PFAS-free water repellant spray, the kind that you find in most sports store, formulated to protect against stains as well. Drying your kids outerwear in a drying cabinet at low temperature also helps reactivate the garment's existing treatment. Good to know: all our kids’ water repellent outerwear has a BIONIC-FINISH® ECO, a treatment that creates a surface ideal for functional outerwear, free from perfluorinated compounds (PFAS) and formaldehyde.

The Lost Glove
We know the frustration of losing a glove and having to buy a whole new pair. That's why we've introduced The Lost Glove – a collection of individual waterproof gloves to simply replace the lost one.

Scratches and rips
Scratches on your kids’ outerwear is a good sign, it means they’re being loved and used on repeat. But if it’s in need of repair, you can use one of our handy self-adhesive repair patches. They can be cut to size and pressed for a few seconds to fasten in place. Just make sure the area being repaired is clean and dry.

Removable foot straps
A lot of our functional trousers and overalls have removable elastic foot straps. If they get worn out, you can easily replace them with new ones. Simply cut off the old straps with a pair of scissors and attach the new ones to the buttons found on the inside of the leg cuffs.

Customise with reflective stickers
Scratches, dirt, heat from drying cabinets and water are all things that affect the longevity of reflective details. That’s why we recommend our reflective stickers. They come in a lot of fun shapes, classic patches, and strips – be creative and go about it your way. You can never have too many.

Marker pen for smart labeling
Our marker pen helps you to stay organized and to avoid mixed up garments. You find a tag on the inside of the functional jacket or trousers with a few lines. A spot for your kid’s name, and a couple more for its future owners.
