Lindex guide for new parents
Lindex guide for new parents
Clothing – soft, flexible and practical
Your baby needs soft garments that follow every little movement – and preferably a few extra changes when life happens. In our newborn range, we offer clothing from size 44 to 68. View our size guide here.
Starter kits
We offer several baby starter kits that include a wrap bodysuit, bottoms and a hat, all in matching colours and patterns. An easy way to create a complete and practical base wardrobe from day one.
Wrap bodysuits
Choose soft wrap bodysuits that are easy to put on and take off without pulling them over your baby’s head. With two rows of snap buttons in the crotch, your baby can grow a size and still wear the same garment.
Trousers
At Lindex, you’ll find trousers with a soft, wide waistband and foldable cuffs at the ankles – perfect when you want the garment to grow with your baby. Available in lightweight cotton jersey or with a brushed inside for extra warmth and comfort. Since tiny socks tend to slip off easily, footed leggings can be a smart and cosy alternative.
Hats, mittens and socks
Different types of hats are good to have – from soft bonnets with tie band closure to warm pile hats for colder days. Complement with mittens in different styles: anti-scratch mittens for newborns to protect delicate skin from sharp little nails, and thicker mittens when it’s cold outside.
Stock up on cosy socks in different materials – merino wool and terry for extra warmth, or lightweight ribbed cotton socks for everyday wear.
Pyjamas
Choose from pyjamas with snap buttons, two-way zip, foldable cuffs or footed styles. We always offer 3 for 2 on baby pyjamas, so you can find the style that suits you best. Our pyjamas are designed with smart openings along one leg for easier diaper changes. Less fuss – happier baby (and parent).
Newborn outerwear
Sleep – safe, soft and close
A secure sleeping space makes a big difference. Choose between a cot bed, a crib and a cradle depending on what suits you best. Perhaps there’s a beautiful cradle that has been passed down through generations? Make the bed with soft sheets and keep cosy baby blankets close at hand. A sleeping bag creates security at bedtime and helps your baby settle, while keeping tiny feet warm all night – even when turning and wriggling in their sleep. Accessories like a night light and baby monitor can make the night calmer for both you and your baby.
Feeding – moments of closeness
Care & bath
When bathing or changing nappies, it’s helpful to keep everything you need close at hand. A baby bathtub, bath support, changing table, soft hooded baby towel and gentle products such as shampoo, soap or bath oil make daily routines easier. A bath support provides extra safety by helping to keep your baby stable and preventing slipping in the water. A soft brush helps smooth baby hair and gently remove cradle cap. To prevent scratches from sharp little nails, keep baby nail scissors or a nail file nearby.
The changing bag
When you’re on the go, it’s comforting to have all essentials gathered in your changing bag. Pack a changing mat, wet wipes, bottle, formula dispenser, nursing pads, tissues and a water bottle. If you’re breastfeeding, it’s especially important to stay hydrated and keep your energy up, so don’t forget a piece of fruit or a small snack – small breaks make a big difference.
For mum – don’t forget yourself
Amid everything new, it’s important that you as a mother get what you need too. Soft nursing wear, period underwear and comfortable clothing make it easier to focus on both recovery and bonding. It’s a wonderful and often slightly overwhelming time. Don’t forget to plan small moments for yourself. Brew a cup of tea, apply a hydrating face mask, read a magazine or a good book. Or do a strengthening workout and activate muscles that may not have been used in a while (and don’t forget your pelvic floor exercises).
Breastfeeding / bottle-feeding
A nursing bra, soft nursing tops and good bottles can make both day and night easier. Our nursing bras are available with drop-down cups or wrap design, with or without padding, and in both single and 2-packs – find what suits you best. Feeding a newborn often means sitting still in less-than-ideal positions. A nursing pillow is a padded support that helps you hold your baby in a comfortable and ergonomic position. Muslin blankets are perfect for extra privacy while breastfeeding or to place over the stroller canopy when your baby is falling asleep.
