Here are our tips for a real good pirate bash:

The kid who is celebrating the birthday is the captain of the party and the one who invites his /her friends to help find the lost treasure. Burn the edges a little bit to get the right historical feel.

Ask the guests to come dressed as pirates

Print out our "Make your own Rebel sailor Hat "to all the guests so that the kids themselves can create their own hat at the party

Set the table in white, blue and red. Use mini pirate flags, ropes, chocolate cold coins, black streamers and mini boats as decorations.

Paint toilet rolls black and use as place cards. The kids can use them as binoculars when all the yummy food is eaten.

Make a cake out of meringue, ice-cream and bananas. Decorate it with small toy pirates and flags which you can buy in any hobby store.

Make a treasure map and mark the treasure with an x. Let the kids go on a hunt and the best thing with this is that they will all find a treasure. To match with the theme put the goodies in a brown paper bag and fill them with chocolate cold coins, fake tattoos and necklaces.
