Garment's & the environment
Lindex garments have been designed so that you and your children
will feel comfortable in them, and they are of high quality. Take
good care of your garments from Lindex and enjoy using them. There
are a few things we think you should keep in mind so that both your
garments and our environment will last longer.
Do not wash if it's not necessary
We often wash our clothes even if they are not really dirty.
Sometimes it is enough to just air or brush the garment, and this
also helps to maintain it in good condition for longer. Small
stains can be gently scraped or carefully wiped off with a damp
cloth.
Fill up the washing machine
Only wash with full loads.
Lower the wash temperature
We always label the garments with the highest temperature
allowed. But feel free to select a lower wash temperature such as
30°C or 40°C to save energy. A wash cycle at 40°C uses about half
the amount of energy as a wash cycle at 60°C. Use an eco-labelled
detergent.
Do not use softeners
Softeners are not just an unnecessary expense but they also
contribute to the needless use of chemicals.
Let the clothes dry by themselves
Tumble dryers and drying closets use lots of energy, so you
should let the laundry dry by itself.
Dry-cleaning
We have only very few garments which require dry-cleaning. For
those garments which require this because of their material or
accessories, we recommend a more environmentally friendly
alternative such as carbon dioxide dry-cleaning.
Hand in your garments to clothing collection points
When you have unwanted garments lying around, you can hand them
in to clothing collection points or charity organisations who
distribute them to the needy. Another alternative is to take them
into second-hand stores where the garments are re-sold, lengthening
their life-cycle.
