Head of design Lindex
We sat down with Annika Hedin, who is our Head of Design and asked her about all you need to know to kick start the New Year. Read on and we will steer you stylishly through spring.
The new trends is all about daring more colours, more exciting silhouettes and patterns. We see a new romance in casual and feminine shapes and with a cool layering look. At the same time the sporty details and the ethnic influences are huge this spring.
“I think we all need to add some more stylish vivid vibes into our everyday looks.”
“A colourful spring knit is also on the top of my list.”
1. Key items which will instantly update your look is the crisp shirt, the long model with wider cuffs, wrapping details or with sweet embroideries. A colourful spring knit is also on the top of my list as is the kimono and the lightweight embroidered jacket.
2. Update your denim wardrobe this spring with re-made denim
with side panels, patched details, raw edges
or washed effects. The high waist is still very important and the ankle length lives on.
3. Colour is key this spring, which
feels so refreshing. I think we all need to add some more stylish vivid vibes into our everyday looks. Yellow, apricot and blue, but also khaki green together with neutrals and orange hues are on the palette this season.
Favourite city: New York, this
is the city were creative people never sleeps. New ideas and expressions together with that genuine and human street culture that is always so apparent in the atmosphere. I usually visit Barneys to see the biggest trends, but I love a good flower shop, bookstore and flea market.
Gets inspired by: People I
meet or culture I digest. Of course fashion, but also from interior design, art and technology. As head of design my aim is to see the biggest trends and predict what we all want to dream about and wear, both now and in the future. I love my job!
Everyday style: My everyday uniform is mostly denim or a dressier pant, something I feel both comfortable and stylish
in. I love the high waist and wear this together with a crisp shirt or sometime something more feminine as a kimono. I also love the spring knits which always completes any look.
