Lindex animal rights policy
Lindex supports animal rights and works to ensure that the
rights of animals are considered in all parts of the processing
chain. We continuously monitor to see what we can do more in the
animal rights issue.
Fur and leather
We have a restrictive policy concerning products made of fur and
leather. Real fur must not appear in Lindex assortment.
Leather which appears in Lindex products must originate from
animals that are bred for meat production.
Mulesing
Lindex does not accept mulesing, the procedure that is practised
on merino sheep to prevent flystrike and does not accept clips as
an alternative. Therefore Lindex has
directed our purchasing to suppliers who can provide
the mulesing-free merino wool. The aim is to step up the pressure
on sheep farmers who still practise mulesing. Lindex
suppliers must be able to ensure that their wool does not come from
sheep that have been exposed to mulesing.
Feathers
Lindex does not use feathers from wild endangered or non-meat
producing birds. We only use suppliers who can guarantee that the
feathers come from meat-producing birds.
Cosmetics
We do not permit any animal testing of cosmetic end
products.
