Lindex's environmental work
For many years Lindex has worked to continuously reduce
the environmental impact of our business. We aim to offer our
customers a world-class fashion experience while also securing a
sustainable future. Thanks to continuous improvement work and
cooperation with other players and access to knowledge and new
techniques, there are improved possibilities to work more
resource-efficiently. By saving energy, reducing water use,
reducing waste, emissions and the use of chemicals, we can reduce
the negative effect on the climate. This is a continuously on-going
effort that we undertake together with our partners in the supply
chain, customers and other stakeholders.
Priority areas for Lindex's environmental work
Lindex's business affects the environment in several
different ways; the following areas have been identified as the
most important:
Direct environmental impact
- Energy use
- Transport and business trips
- Waste (packaging and products)
Indirect environmental impact
- Local environmental impact during production at external
suppliers
- Care and handling of the garments by the consumers
The biggest direct impact is energy use in stores, offices
and warehouses, and on transport and business trips through things
like carbon dioxide emissions and the potential waste Lindex
packaging and products represent. The environment is also impacted
through production of products that takes place at external
suppliers as well as the use and care of the clothes by the
consumer.
Environmental targets and follow-up
In these areas, Lindex sets on-going environmental targets
for our business and works to reduce the negative impact on the
environment and minimise CO2 emissions by:
- Responsible, efficient use of resources such as raw materials,
energy, water and chemicals
- Minimising waste through the design, purchasing and production
process, reuse and recycling
- Transport of goods and trips taking place with consideration
for the environment
- Information, dialogue, participation and cooperation with our
stakeholders
